Olora of the nre department has completed tha installation installa-tion of auxiliary chemical apparatus on virtually all the ire lighting equipment of the eity that has not hcretofor been so equipped. Tha auxiliary equipment ineludes one thirty-ave-galloa task, chemical and 200 feet of throe-quarter-ioeh chemical hose, with all necessary attachments, and has been added to No. S hose. No. a hose. No. 4 hose. No. 8 hose. No. 2 truck and No. 4 truck. No. 7 bos is the only equipment that is not now fitted with the chemical auxiliary. This equipment ia largely used for lighting grass Urea and for relief re-lief and auxiliary equipment. A heating plant is being installed 1 the (Ire headquarters basement, under tbe direction of Chief Glore. The beating beat-ing equipment of the police headquarters headquar-ters in the adjoining building has been found inadequate to heat both buildings build-ings properly.
