Show MRS. COOP TAKES STAND IN SEPARATE MAINTENANCE SUIT (Special to The Telegram.) OODK.N. June 24. A package of ok letters figured In the Coop hearing on the plea of Mrs. Carmen Coop for a decree de-cree of separate maintenance from Prof. Squire Coop, Ibis morning. Mrs. Coop herself waa also on the stand. She told of meeting Mr. Coop In Franoe. becoming engaged In London and coming to live in Halt I.ake City In 1907. The following year, sho asserted he proposed thst she go to Chicago to study to teach French In Utah schools. In the windy city, sho aaserted. she was placed In the handa of members of the Mormon church, and there Professor Coop failed to visit her, though he often promised to do ao. At last she received a letter offering her her freedom and referring to "outside Influences." In-fluences." In her answer she said aha Implied that be should come to Chicago and give his reasons, and said that If she had tho money she would return to Salt Lake Cliy. and nod out what was the matter. She referred to the meeting of Coop with her niece.
