Show LIBRARIANS VISIT CITY AND LIBRARY Twenty-nine delegate who have been attending the convention of librarians at Pasadena, Cat., passed through the city yesterday and were entertained for a few hours All are member of the American Library association. Twelve others who are touring Yellowstone Xational park will reach the city Fn day and will remain for a few hours. The visitors were taken about ine citv in- automobile and visited Saltair Beach, where a banquet waa served by members of the Salt Lake City Library association. A special organ recital was given at the tabernacle, with Prof. John 1. McClellan at the organ. The visitora also inspected the eity library, and eipreaaed themselve aa well pleased with the manner in which the institution i mcnaged. Those in the partv were Mia E. H. fobb. Sprague, city librarian, li-brarian, has tied her annual report . with the city library commission, in which she aays that 5055 volume were added to the library during the year, ia addition to the 35,740 book on hand one year ago. Th library ha also ISMS 2 periodical and pamphlet on hand. An average of 1U58 persons visit the library daily. The total number num-ber of volumes circulated during the vear waa 193,333. The to(al amount of the disbursements was Sl,hi7.47. and the receipts were I28.8C9.92. |
