Show STIHSON JILL SEE THE PANAMA CANAL WASHINGTON, July 3. Seeretary of War Stimson left Washington today, to be gone ontil early in August, during dur-ing which time he will make minute inspection of the Panama eanal. The seeretary will spend the Fourth of July at his summer home at Huntington, Hunting-ton, L. I., and sail from New York next Thursilav on the steamer Santa Maria for Colon. Mra. Htimson, Brigadier General Edwards, Ed-wards, chief of the bureau of insular affairs, and Walter Pedigo, Mr. Htimson Htim-son ' private secretary, will aceompany him. During the inspection of the eanal the aeeretary of war will be joined by Ma.jor General Leonard Wood, chief of staff of the armv; Brigadier General W. W. Witherspoon, president of the army war college: Brigadier General E. M. Weaver, chief of the coaat artillery ar-tillery corps, and Captain 8. G. En-bick, En-bick, secretary of the board of ordnance ord-nance and fortifications. This party will leave New York neit Monday. |
