Show ATTORNEYS GENERAL SEEING THE SIGHT. Attorneys general of ten atatcs of th union, who bav been in thia eity ia attendance at their annual convention, conven-tion, are visitiag at Bingham and Gar-Held Gar-Held today' aa the guests of the Rio Grand Railroad company and the Utah Copper company. The railroad company provided a special train for the guests, which left thia city at 9:30 o'clock this morning. The party reached Cuprum at 11:13 and had luncheon. After visiting the vast properties of th Utah Copper company at Bingham the attorneys started on the return trip, - tailing Gar-Held, Gar-Held, ami then will come into Salt Lake City via the Salt I-ake route, arriving at 4.20 o'clock. Automobiles will be provided bv the Commercial clnb automobile auto-mobile committee for the attorneys general on their arrival and a tour of the city will be begun with the Harri man station aa a atarting point. The election of officers for the ensuing ensu-ing year held yesterday afternoon resulted re-sulted as follows: President. Attorney General 17. 8. Webb of California: vice president. At torney General George T. himpson of Minnesota; aecretary and treasurer. Attorney At-torney General George Cos son of Iowa. Delegates from Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama all made bide for the next meeting place of the convention, but it waa finally decided to leave the choice mf a meeting place in thr-hands trf m committee consisting of the otticera of the association. This committee will report to the attorneys general before March 1. 1912. A committee consisting of Attorneys General Charles West, George T. Simpson Simp-son and Robert C. Brickell was appointed appoint-ed to arrange 'an immediate meeting with the railroad commission of the various state to discuss the rate nuea-tion. nuea-tion. . A committe waa also appointed consisting of Attorneva General George Cosaon, Grant G. Martin and Assistant Attorney General J. N. Hawkes to confer con-fer with the uniform laws committee of (he American Bar asaociatioa, with a view toward adopting a plan of cam fiaign to secure national legislation to imit the powers of tba federal courta in connection with auspending state statutes bv injunction proceedings againat the enforcement of certain laws in certain ease aeetlng the common intereata of the statet A vote of thanks and appreciation was then tendered Attorney Oeneral Baraes, state and city officials, the State Bar asaociatioa -and the Commercial club for the genuine hoapitality and exceptional ex-ceptional program arranged in honor of the visitors, after which the body ad journeed aad proceeded to the Com-cial Com-cial club for their big banquet. |
