Show AUSTIN CASE WILL NOT BE PROBED There will be no official investigation of the mysterious shooting' of George H. Austin in his rooms at 23 South Fifth East street, at 1:30 o'clock this rooming, following an alleged quarrel with bis wife. Austin and hit wife are said to have been overheard in a violent quarrel after their return from Baltair Beach shortly after midnight. A few moments mo-ments later occupants of another part of the house heard two pistol shots in quick succession. They rushed into the room snd found Austin lying on the floor with a had wound in .his kcjlp. from which the blood flowed freely. The police were called and Dr. H. B. Sprague dressed Austin's wound. The wound was more at tha back of the hend than in front. Austin said that he did not know whv he picked up the gun, but declares that he held it in one hand while he was winding a clock with the other lie declares that the ahot was flred ac-ciilt'titully. ac-ciilt'titully. There were no witnesses ether than Mrs. Austin, who ssvs her back was turned to her husband when the shot was fired. Austin la not seriously hurt. |
