Under sales of 67,000 shares Wednesday, United Tintic declined three quarters of a cent a share. Naturally stockholders are anxious to know the cause of the break in price. These are the facts: The shaft is being sunk an additional 100 feet, from the 2 10-foot level to the 310, in order to get under the ore already opened. As a matter of. economy the board of directors decided to let the remaining 40 feet by contract. Without the authority or knowledge of the company the men were discharged and the report circulated that the mine had closed down. There was a report current in the-city, said to have come from Eureka, that the property had been attached on account of the inability of the company to meet the financial requirements of the development work, none of which is true. The company's pay day is on the tenth of the month. All the miners have been paid to July 1st. The money is on hand to pay them to date. The treasurer has left for Tintic to pay all bills and close a contract with responsible parties for the completion of the shaft to the 31 o-foot' level. United Tintic is in shape to mine as it ha? never mined before. A steam hoist and all other machinery necessary to sink several hundred feet has been installed and the property fully equipped. The making of any mine always means much for the stockholders, much for the district in which it is located, much for the State. The successful opening of.United Tintic will mean more for Utah than any mine since the strike in the Humbug. Utah's mines are some of the greatest in America. Tintic is a great district, one worthy of great, broad-minded, big-hearted, intelligent men. The development of United Tintic is an honest effort to bring in a new and profitable mine for Utah. Its success means profits for mine owners, brokers and investors. It will mean a new era for Tintic. Co-operation among citizens of the State is the only thing that will ever put Utah mining ' again on the basis where it belongs. To dissensions, false reports and hair brained efforts to profit by the losses sustained by honest invest-ors invest-ors our market owes its present condition. The State has lost millions that its parasites might make a few dollars. -We would like to see all mines successful, all brokers prosperous, all investors satisfied and are working to that end.
