Show SCHOOL EXERCISES IN GRANITE DISTRICT la the big auditorium of the Granite stakehonse, prettily decorated with elass colors aad spring flowers, com meneement exercises of tha public schools of tha Granite school district were held this morning. A eapaeity audience was in attendance and tha program, pro-gram, consisting of musical numbers from individuals and of class choruses, was excellent. This year 211 students received diplomas, while 175 graduated at the corresponding time last year. The scholarships were awarded to Miss I Rowena Maekav, who was first with an average of nearly 96 per cent, and Adiel Stewart, who was second with an average aver-age of about 04 per cent. Prof William M. Stewart delivered the address to the graduate,. Miss Mackay in giving the valedictory took as her topic, " Ti Not in Mortals to Command Success; but Well Do Mora, We'll Deserve It." Miss Emily Brintoa of the Irving S'hool delivered aa address of welcome Other interesting numbers were by Myrle Anderson of Sherman school, Rhea Morris, Fay Cornwall,- Ray Alston, Al-ston, Klvn Miller, Clarence Beynolds, Adiel Stewnrt, Marian Hringhurst, Mildred Mil-dred Bennion and others. Certificates of graduation were presented pre-sented by Superintendent B. W. Ash-ton. |
