Young, president of the first seven president of seventies, iras the principal speaker at the quarterly conference of Liberty stake, held In the tabernacle yesterday afternoon, Older Voung devoted the greater part of his time to ths word of wisdom and the observance of the Sabbath. On the latter subject he declared that It wna not only a religious, bat a moral, duty that every man owed to himself, to rest one day In seven. He declared thst the Saints should make It a day of fasting and prayer, devoted to ths Lord. Referring to ths duty of following the precepts laid down In ths word of wisdom. wis-dom. Dr. Toung said that at first the Mormon people- were very strict in the observance of this law. but today there was jl, tendency - amnng aoany 4f iJie young people to disregard It and to indulge in-dulge in the use of strong drink and tobacco. to-bacco. He declared .that not only was the word of wisdom a commandment from the Lord, but that It was supported sup-ported by science. Corcoran was the principal speaker at the It o'clock mass at St. Mary's cathedral yesterday morning.' Ths speaker delivered sn eloquent elo-quent sermon on the most holy rosary, tracing the origlnf and significance of this devotional rite from the very earliest ear-liest history of Catholicism.
