Menrlli, director of the achool of mines of the stale university, haa leeued a etataroent outlining the scholsrehips and quallflcatlona to be awarded In 1811-1S. 7 ' The provisions are aa followa: The Wall fellowship In mining", ore dressing or metnllurgy; the annual stipend sti-pend of which ia tMO. Two school of mines fellewehlp. the annual atlpend of each being S3&0. To be eligible, the appltcant must be a graduate of a college, or university of recognised standing (or' wlll be by July 1 snd must be qualified to enter upon reeeerrh work In soma one of the engineering en-gineering departmente. During tha school year a fellow must be a realdent student of tha achool of mines, devoting from one-third to one-half of his time to research work under tha direction of the head of tha department, and te remainder re-mainder of hia time to study. " The Wall fellowship la assigned to the department of mining or metallurgy metal-lurgy only, and requlree one-half of the student's time. Tha ether two fellow, fel-low, hips may be assigned to any of the englaeertng- departments. Including those of mining and metallurgy. Application, will be received up to Mky IS.
