Show PARDONED SLAYER MUST STAY OFF THE LECTURE PLATFORM TOPEKA, Kan., April 9. Gov. Hoch today granted a conditional pardon to "Willie" Sell, the quadruple murderer, who has been in the Kansas penitentiary peniten-tiary since 188 serving a life sentence. The principal condition of the pardon is that Sell must not take the' lecture pistform or in any manner exhibit himself him-self for the purpose of making money. Gov. Hoch promises to find Sell a home and help him start life anew. The murders were committed March 7, 1886, evidently for the purpose of robbery. J. W. Sells, aged 45, a farmer and school teacher, lived near Erie, Kan., with his family, the wife, a son, Watty, 19 years old, a daughter ' Ina, 15 and a son. Willie, 16 years old. |
