Show BRINGS HUSBAND'S DEAD BODY TO CAMP ON BURRO'S BACK OBIZZLY GClCH. Cal., Aug. 18. A tired little- woman, leading a burro with a lopsided pack, came down the mountains into this camp today aud iu no time at all was transfigured into a pitiful heroine. Every man in the street helped to undo the hitches which fas-41 fas-41 toned a plank coffin to the burro's pack W saddle and take it into a house, where f the little woman, who had not wept at I . all, cried her heart out over the body of her husband. ' Her ,. she presently told her new friends, was Marr Stribltng. Her husband, hus-band, P. T. Stribling, a prospector, wa killed, and his partner was badly hurt last Friday in a cavein on their claim. She made the injured man as comfortable comfort-able a abe could, put aome provisions where he could reach them, and then built the coffin around her husband 's body and succeeded in getting it on the burro's back. She walked twenty-four twenty-four hours with hardly a stop to reach Grizzly Gulch, where her husband might be burled with suitable rites. Aid has been tent to the injured man, |
