Lament, president of the union, and Allen Sun. heaviness agent for the union. Mr. Maddax Informed the committer that he would take the matter up with the officers of the street ear company st an early date and notify the committee at what time a meeting could be held. When seen this morning, officers of the union declined to discuss the proposed agreement They said that at the present pres-ent time any statement that might bs made to the pubtlf should come from the company. In their opinion. Joseph H. Wens said.' "We have no ' statement to make at this Urns. Ws have received a communication from the men. but there Is nothing that we care ts give out at this time.
