Show MODERN GREEKS ARE OBSERVING EASTER WEEK RELIGIOUSLY Pastor of the Local Church Is Going to Macedonia Soon. Greek Kaster, which fall ud April 27 this year, will be appropriately celebrated cele-brated throughout the country, not only in commemoration ! the resurrection resur-rection of Christ, but in memory of the resurrection of the Grecian nation, which has been restored to them by conquest. Ait Christians belonging to the Creek orthodox church are now celebrating cele-brating what is termed by their church "boly and great week." According to the rules of the church, services must be held every night, special spe-cial attention being given to Thursday, Thurs-day, Fridav and Saturday nights. Thursday night services were in commemoration com-memoration of the original "sacred dinner," on Pn iav nignt of the crucifixion, cru-cifixion, and Saturday night of the burial. On Sunday services will be given for the resurrection, at 1 o'clock p. m., and are repeated at 2 U Mwa. In Greece they strictly observe a Ienten period of seven weeks. At the closing of Lent they attend confession. If they are deemed fit, after confession, they are accepted for communion. Otherwise they are punished for a eer- tain period, to prepare them for com-' munton. In their own country Greeks obey the dictates of their church by refraining from work on Sundays and holidays Before going to war, soldiers I never fail to take communion, fearing that if they should fail to do so, their cause wonld suffer.
