Show I Timely Warning PRAFFIC OPHCtR WARDEN issues a timely warning lo motorists as he calls attention to the persistent violation of the traffic laws at intersections. ' An evil and growing practice on the part of local motorists is to cross the intersections inter-sections two or three abreast. The danger of accidents, both to pedestrians and to motorists. Is increased by this seeming in difference to the city ordinances, which require machines waiting for traffic signals to line up behind each other. The pedestrian crossing the street is not expecting one car to pass another at the Intersection and unless he Is vigilant he runs a risk of being struck. The practice Is not without dangers for the 'motorist, since the lead machine may desire to turn the corner. If the car behind attempts to pass at this juncture there Is danger of a collision which Is distinctly against the rules of safety first. Inasmuch as traffic officers are stationed at these points and violations must necesarily fall under the eye of the officer, It should not be . difficult to stop the practice to which the traffic sergeant has called attention. |
