Luminary Waits Debut CHICAGO (UP)-John Barry-more Barry-more eat in a night club early today to-day holding the hand of a new stage rival his daughter, Diana, 18, costar of a- play opening tonight to-night at a theater adjoining one . where he is starring in the play, "My Dear Children." They had a histrionic meeting last night when she stepped off a train from Detroit Except for half a dozen brief chats at New York City during the last four years, they had not- seen each other since she was a baby. He greeted her with a kiss, posed for photographers, then bundled her off to the night club with a party of friends. They sat there for eight hours and most of the tune Barrymore raved about her beauty. She called him "Daddy." He called her "Duke," "Slug" or "Gus." "Isn't she lovely?" he said, patting pat-ting her hand. "She's absolutely the most delightful person I've ever met." Diana, born to Michael Strange, second of Barrymore's wives, is a slim, attractive brunette. She is costarred in the stage play, "Outward "Out-ward Bound." As a star her name will sparkle tonight alongside the "Great Profile's." - |
