Show Senate Group Okehs Reciprocal Tax Bill Measure Applies to Federal, State Salaries, but Not to Securities ' WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 (AP) The senate finance committee approved, 14-3, today legislation providing for taxation of state snd federsl salaries. Ths meaaure already has passed ths house. It would carry out part of President Roosevelt's recommendations recommen-dations for reciprocal taxation ef all public salaries snd securities. The legislation would authorise ths federal government to tax the Incomes of stste snd local employes and would consent to stats taxation of the incomes of federal employes. It would also waive all back federal fed-eral claims for Income tax which might otherwise be valid against state and local employes. The measure approved does not provide for reciprocal taxation of ths Income from federal, elate and local securities, ths other part of the president's recommendation. Senators King (D.. Utah). Bailey D., N. C.) and Radcllffe (D., Md.) voted against a favorable committee commit-tee .report. Voting for the measure were Senators Sen-ators George (D., Ga.l, Walsh D., Mass.), Clark (D.. Mo.). Byrd (D., Vs.), Cuffey D, Pa.), Brown (D., Mich.), Herring (D., Iowa), Johnson John-son (D..
