Show Traps Stars Train Sights For Tourney Ray Pierson, Sam Sherman, Gus Becker, Frank Kautxman, Dean , Hurd, Alf Christensen and Chaley Higgins, to mention only a few, will be on hand for the opening of the ninth annual Utah state P. L T. A. trapshooting tournament scheduled for May 19. 30 and 21 at the Salt Lake Gun club. The event is expected to draw many of the intermountain empire's finest trapshooters and will be run under the authorization of the Pa- 1 cific International Trapshooting association. as-sociation. P. L T. A. rules will govern gov-ern the events and the scores will be entered in the association's official offi-cial records for 193. A total of $436 will be divided pro rata for eairi (iml and shooters I in four classes. A, B, C and D, will fire at 100 singles. 60 handicap targets tar-gets and 25 pairs of doubles the first day. The money division for ckus A will be on a 60-40 per cent basis, 90-30-20 for class B and 40-30-20-10 for classes C and D. First day prizes will amount to $109 added. Second day competition opens the shooting for state singles and cls champions, each gunner to fire at 100 singles in four events. The state doubles championship will be decided also on the second day, prizes to total $130. The Utah singles and class champions cham-pions will be decided on the third and final day, as will the women's t championship. Officials of the gun club, located at 1900 West North Temple street, announce that daily events will begin be-gin at 10:30 a. m. |
