Show VETO OF FARM JIITEREST.BILL IS OVERRIDDEN House Votes 260-97 to Defy President's Presi-dent's Will WASHINGTON, July 13 (UP) The house today overrode over-rode President Roosevelt's veto of a bill continuing present low emergency interest rates on federal farm land bank loans. The house action must be eon-firmed eon-firmed by the senate before becoming be-coming final. The roll call vote to override was 260 to 97. A two-thirds vote wai necessary. It was the second time this session ses-sion that the house voted to override a presidential veto. The first time was June 3 when both housee agreed to extend for five years the privilege priv-ilege to World war veterans to con- vert their war risk insurance. Jones Leads Attack The attack on the president's farm bill veto was led by Chairman Marvin Mar-vin Jones (D), Texas, of the house agriculture committee, and other members of his group who contended contend-ed that continuation is essential to aid hundreds of farmers in their financial problems. "I regret exceedingly that I cannot can-not go along with the president on this matter," Jones told the house.
