Show PUYJfADER OPENSCLASSES Miss Ethel Bowers of New York City, field secretary of the National Na-tional Recreation association, Tuesday Tues-day took her "students" through a course of recreational games and dancing, including several variations varia-tions of the old square dance. The "students" are the recreational recrea-tional leaders of Salt Lake City attending at-tending the five-day Institute sponsored spon-sored by the city recreation department de-partment In the auditorium of the L. D. S. church Bishop's building, 40 North Main street. The old-fashioned square dance. Miss Bowers said, probably never will supplant "jitterbugging." but is far more relaxing to dancers than swing. It has the added good point of being a "mixer," a form of recreation that mixes people grouped together and does away with "wall flowers," she said. Miss Bowers was to address members mem-bers of the Salt Lake chapter, Utah Congress of Social Workers, Tuesday Tues-day evening at the Newhouse hotel on recreation for girls and women. The Institute sessions will be held each day through Friday at 9:30 a. m. and 7:30 p. m.
