" i l i k x " I GRANITE PARK, Aug. 15 Little Lit-tle 3 -year-old BlUy Woodworth waa back home sleeping soundly In his crib Thursday toiorning after being lost In the fields near his home, 3701 S. State st for nine hours Wednesday night. Ths boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Woodworth, was first missed about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and was found wet and cold but sais at 4:45 a.m. nearly a half-mile awsv from horns by Mr. and Mrs. removed his wet alothaa and wrapped him in a blanket. A short time later Mr. Warner noticed deputy sheriffs Ross Vincent Vin-cent and Ernest Caldwell driving by in their car. He hailed them down and asked If they were looking look-ing for a lost boy. Billy was taken to the hospital by the offieers where he waa treated for "slight exposure" and released. All he wanted Thursday morning was a glass of milk and lota of sleep. Mrs, W. B. Warner ... Led to lost boy by sound ef his cries. W. R. Warner, 3444 . Main st. During that time the youthful adventurer wandered around and alept in the weeds while 75 men and women. Including 15 deputy sheriffs, searched the open fields and small ditchsa. The parents searched for nearly an hour after they missed the youngster before calling the sheriffs sher-iffs department, who Immediately dispatched men to the scene. They thought he had been playing la the . yard and fallen asleep. While the others were searching the fields, Mra Warner waa awakened awak-ened by the cries of ths child. She went to the door and noticed they were coming from across ths street so she went back In to, the bedroom and got her husband to go with her. They found the youngster cold, wet and scared lying in the weeds. They took him into the house and |
