Show Newfoundland LDS Aids Laud Growth Prospect for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-dsy Saints In Newfoundland look "pretty good." according to Dr. Milton R, Hunter, member of the LDS first council of seventy, sev-enty, who returned this week from a tour of the New England atates mission field. Newfoundland haa been a subject sub-ject of LDS missionary work for only a few months. Dr. Hunter and S. Dilworth Young, Now England statea mission president and member of the first council of seventy, were the first of the church general authorities au-thorities to visit the country. There are six missionaries there, Dr. Hunter said, and already al-ready three church member and about 50 Interested Investigators. Investiga-tors. The official said there are more investigators thsn ever before be-fore tat the New England statea mission. Ha reported there erers three times aa many converts fast year than In any previous year and present indications are thst this year will set another record. Most of the miasionarlsa fat that field, Dr. Hunter said, are ia ths country at present, traveling "without puree or scrip. " Ha added that the missionaries appear ap-pear to be having more success ia the country than In the cities. Dr. Hunter was away for Dearly Dear-ly a month on ths tour. |
