There must be a-change in -the mental attitude of this board before a successful business management of school affairs -may be obtained. . The action of, the trustees was a direct insult to the representative business iiien and, other citizens of Salt Lake. The Commercial club' com-mitteeahas com-mitteeahas not "interfered'' as one member of the board puts.it What the club has done and is doing is in the interest of the school children. It is trying try-ing to bring order'out of "chaos to save something fromthe wreck. in order that the school term may be completed. But the public-spirited and sensitive members, of the school board - resent the action of the Commercial club in going to the rescue of the public schools after the astute trustees have made such a miserable failure of their administration. In other words these proud trustees prefer to sink rather than accept the aid the Commercial club and representative citizens are extending to them? , |
