Price, grocer was 'convicted in the , City court this morning, on two counts, charging him with having violated vio-lated the city ordinances with regard to the use of weights and pleasures that were not 'officially stamped and sealed by, the City Sealer of Weights and Measures. - i-' r ' -. Argument -In the cases" were concluded con-cluded yesterday afternoon, and the decision de-cision was postponed by Judge ,DlehI nntU thla morning; that ha might- have an opportunity of giving a r careful examination ex-amination to. the testimony adduced. When the decision was rendered Judge Diehl expressed himself as being In doubt as to the validity of the ordinance ordi-nance under which the defendant "was arrested, and said that the ordinance was not framed ' for the' purpose, '.of bringing revenue to the coffers of "the city, but for the protection of the public, pub-lic, who would,- without such an ord! nance, be at the absolute mercy of the dealers. , : . -, k. , He said that he did not believe that the defendant had. wilfully disregarded the law, and that he believed that the i defendant had purchased the measures 1 In good faith.
