Show PLEAS ARE ENTERED BY SEVEN SUSPECTS The seven men srrested in a rooming-house rooming-house Monday night and suspected of various va-rious crimes, were arraigned in Police court Thursday afternoon before City Judge Diehl, on charges of vagrancy. Joe Wilson. James Atwell. George Ryan. James Buckley, Tom Hughes snd Frank Smith pleaded not guilty. Their cases will be tried In. Police court Saturday afternoon. af-ternoon. , . When Buckley was srralgned and asked how he wanted to plead, he said: "I have been up here so often and nothing noth-ing has been done In the case, that I do not know which way to plead. He pleaded guilty, and will be sentenced Friday Fri-day sfternoon. Tim Sullivan pleaded guilty. He said: - "I'm guilty of vagrancy, and that s all I am guilty of. I haven't done anything but loaf around a bit." , . The court told him that he was being tried for vagrancy -and for nothing else.. Sullivan asked for a chance to leave town, but the court could not grant the request. He-will be sentenced Friday afternoon. |
