Show HANA TAKEDA MUST RETURN TO JAPAN Hana Takeda, the Japanese woman, who was being held for deportation and as a witness against Prank Sugiura, who is accused of holding Japanese women In slavery, will be returned to Japan at the expense of the steamship company which brought her over. The little Japanese has been held in the county Jail since December awaiting await-ing a decision as to whether she should be deported. Recently she petitioned for a writ of habeas corpus in the Federal Fed-eral court, and was given a hearing Saturday, Judge Marshall reserv ing his decision until Monday morning. The proceedings were dismissed Monday Mon-day morning. Jndge Marshall turning tho woman over to the Immigration officials of-ficials for deportation. She will be taken ta-ken to Seattle some tline this week and will be returned to Japan on the first steamer. When on the witness stand Saturday her story was told in a very contradictory contradic-tory manner, and she made a very poor witness for herself. |
