Show TALK ABOUT TELEPHONES Retail Butchers vand Grocers Gro-cers Defer Action Until Un-til Business Men Report The Retail Butchers and Grocers' association as-sociation met Wednesday night and discussed dis-cussed the telephone question. A resolution reso-lution was introduced asking that all members discontinue the use of the Rocky Mountain Bell telephone after January 1, unless the unlimited rate Is reduced from 390 to $48, but this was voted down, and the association decided to await the action of the committee of the Salt Lake Business Men's association, associa-tion, which will report to that body In a short time. It was asserted at the meeting that the Independent Telephone company had agreed to a two-party line service after January 1, at a rate of $1.50 a month and a flat rate of $2 a month for residence service. Secretary John Burt, George Castle-ton Castle-ton and Lorenzo Jensen were named as a committee to urge the City Council to take action against the trading stamp system. The association Is In favor fa-vor of Jmportng a license of $1000 a year on dealers in trading stamps and a license li-cense of $100 a year on merchants who use them. . |
