Show PRICE LEVEL OF THE STOCK MARKET HIGHER NEW YORK. Oct. L The stock market has been free from disturbing factors, and has been stimulated by the circulation 'of rumors of projects in process 'of formation. forma-tion. None of the rumors has been confirmed, con-firmed, but they served to hold prices of -the stock affected through periods of very heavy selling to take profits. The weather has been favorable to maturing ma-turing crops, and the money market has continued easy in spite of very large withdrawals by the interior. The decline in sterling exchange has fostered a confidence con-fidence that relief could be had from stringency by gold imports. Railroad gross earnings show encouraging increases in-creases over last year. The result has been an effective absorption of stocks sold to take profits and a generally higher level of prices. |
