Show SAY THAT SIDEWALKS HAVE NOT BEEN BUILT The people In the western part of the city have registered a strong kick against the Street department They state that last June they paid the tax assessed for the building of a sidewalk on Ninth West streets, between Second and Fourth South street and at the present time there have been no efforts made by the Street department even to commence work on the paving. As a result of these conditions the children living In the vicinity have to plonrh through deep mud to and from scnoot. The persons living In the locality think they have every right to ask why this Is. There is a slough on Ninth West between be-tween Third and Fourth South streets. This is thought to be not only an unpleasant un-pleasant thing, but also one that is quite dangerous to the health of the people living near It They say that the city has been requested to drain It but that nothing has been done toward abating the nuisance. |
