Hiss Lyons put up a striking game throughout and. won the first set with apparent ease by a score of 6-2. It looked bad for the champion as Miss Lyons with her large repertoire of plays and Strokes had her opponent guessing. Miss Williams' previous experience ex-perience -nnder fire stood her in good tead and by taking things cool, getting get-ting ontrol -of her side placing and net play she put np a first-class article of tennis and won the next two sets, 6-4, -3.
