Show OUTLINE PLANS v FOR LABOR DAY Big' Parade in Morning to Be Followed' by Programme Pro-gramme of Sports at Salt Palace. At a meeting of the labor unions held in the Federation of Labor hall last night plans were outlined for the Labor day celebration in this city, which it is promised will be the greatest of its kind ever held in the State. Representatives Repre-sentatives of all the labor unions have been appointed on the general committee, commit-tee, with J. N. Spalding as chairman. The feature of the day - will be the big parade on the morning of September Septem-ber 3. The parade will be in four divisions, divi-sions, with two prizes of $25 and. $15 for the first and second best showing. A committee, representing each of the daily newspapers, will act as the judges. After the parade the day 's programme, will be continued at the Salt Palace, a long programme of sports having been arranged for the occasion. , At the meeting last night it was decided de-cided that no funds or merchandise should be solicited from the merchants, the expenses for the day being taken from the general fund of the central body. . The merchants, however, will be given an opportunity to advertise in the official programme. A meeting of the general committee is called to meet in the Federation of Labor hall tomorrow at 10 a. m. |
