Show SNOOT PROTESTS FLOOD SENATE WASHINGTON, Hay 28. Protests against the retention of Read Sxnoot as a Senator of the United States flooded the Senate today. The petitions peti-tions came from rarioos States. All were prepared in neat form, inclosed in handsome leather and cloth-bound letter files trimmed with brass fastening's. fasten-ing's. The, petitions were signed by women, in every case and were presented pre-sented as follows: Minnesota, by Senator Clapp, there were 6803; Indiana, by Senator Hem-en Hem-en way, 8341; New Hampshire, by Senator Oallinger, 3265; Kentucky, by Senator Blackburn; about 2800; Alabama, by Senator Morgan, 801; Kansas, by Senator Long, 14,862; North Carolina, by Senator Simmons, 2098. v It is said that during the week similar sim-ilar petitions will be received from every State and Territory in the United States. |
