Show foreign Princend Envoys En-voys in flfcurid for Great Event. MADRID, May 29. The arrival today of the foreign-Princes and envoys adds to the glitter and pomp with which this city is Invested for the royal wedding. The American, Italian and Portuguese delegations delega-tions were among the earliest '.arrivals, while Princes, Archdukes and Grand Dukes representing the reigning houses of Europe Eu-rope with daasltng retinues arrived continuously con-tinuously during the afternoon. Mr. Whlteridge, the American envoy, received Mr. Collier, the American Minister, Min-ister, this morning, and discussed the programme for the American envoy's reception. re-ception. At 4 o'clock this afternoon Mr. Wblterlde, escorted by a troop of Hussars, Hus-sars, will visit the Foreign Minister, the Duke of Almodovar, present his credentials creden-tials and arrange for an audience of King Alfonso, at which a sealed autograph letter let-ter from President Roosevelt to the King will be presented. This probably will be tomorrow, as the King was overwhelmed today by arriving Princes. A unique feature of the festivities this afternoon was the ascension of twelve balloons from the Aero club park. The perfect weather lent to the success of the event, the flight of the balloons over the city being witnessed by the royal family from Pardo palace. . . . |
