Show y . . fURTHER EVIDENCES OF PROSPERITY. Evidences continue to accumulate of the coming prosperity to Salt Lake City and Utah. The various railroads that are heading ibis way have been pointed out from time to time. Others are hinted Et or openly broached. Besides the Western Pacific and the Moffat roads, already, in; course of construction, the definite announcement tt the proposed building' of the Burlington to Salt Lake and the construction con-struction of.the n'ew railroad into the Carbon couuty coal fields comes the announcement of a project to construct a line from Santa Fe to Salt Lake, through some of the most fertile sections of New Mexico. ' 1 v ' -" , '.'-'- . - ; As told in a story in today's Telegram, the latest proposed route Is an ideal one from a construction standpoint, and would tap a country coun-try capable of great development. Furthermore, it would be a scenic line unsurpassed in the world. These are the attributes needed for a railroad, and therefore the proposed line ought to appeal to capital. To Salt Lake it would open a new territory, a hitherto unoccupied field for business exploitation, and therefore it becomes a matter of great local interest. Talk of this line at this time is merely confirmatory of the indi- ications noted. Attention is being directed Salt Lake-ward from all over the country. Salt Lake needs but to awake to its own oppor-. oppor-. tunities. - " ' " " " Another stpry of more thanjordinary interest is that.which tells oMhe possible opening to development of the great Jron deposits in the southern part of the State, j This will come as' a matter of course ' , in time, but its discussion at this time serves, td show the vast resources re-sources of Utah that are awaiting development. |
