Chrlstcnsen. snd the-defense by William Ray Of .Rawlins ft Ray. . ,;'' , ." - Mrs Zeler, the first witness; said that she had deposited about S700 in the bank, of which amount J135 was deposited for her, by, her eister, Mrs. inebnlt, October 1, tS04.'V.x - -- ' -- '-Mrs. Inebntr testified that she took the $136 to the bankQher sistec on' thedaU named; that B. frfc Schettler himself received re-ceived the money,: and. after entering It upon the' books, -took both -her hands and thanked her, .wishing- to -be remembered by her to the rest of the family. - Mrs. Inebnit'said that shewed known Mr. Schettler since 1889, and had deposited money in his bank -since 1896: that she and her hueband and a crippled son kept their savings there. During the afternoon Receiver Anderson Ander-son waa'.called as a witness and Introduced Intro-duced in evidence all the assets of the bank, including real property, - bills receivable, re-ceivable, accounts and all property -whatsoever owned by B. H. Schettler as a private banker. ; f- 4 Ernest Schettler. son of the accused, was also called, and after mUch questioning ques-tioning identified the book o( the bank and the entries as having: been made by I himself and his father. |
