Show K0Y7 DEALING IN WALL STREET Tendency of Prices To-werd To-werd Lower Level Af-ter Af-ter Recent Rises, ' NEW YORK. Dec 7. Prices moved narrowly In the opening dealings In contrast con-trast with the sensational changes of special spe-cial stocks in recent markets. The rise of 1H In Tennessee Coal was the most conspicuous chsnge. Declines were progressive from the outset out-set and there was an absence of recent turbulent speculation in particular stocks. One reason oft- another caused a general shrinkage of the values all along the line, amounting to a point or over in about thirty stocks of various caliber. Among these were St. Paul, Canadian Pacific. Pennsylvania, the Rock Islands, Kansas A Texas, Atlantic Coast Line, the Southern South-ern iron and railroad equipment groups. Energetic support V-aused one or ' two stocks to rebound In a striking manner with moderate effect in staying the course of the general market. Lead sold a point over yesterday's closing. Reading, New York. Chicsgo A St. Louis recovered lty for the decline and Brooklyn Transit and Amalgamated Copper rallied strongly. Linseed preferred rose 114 over yesterday. Advances in specia! stocks held the general gen-eral market for a time, but prices receded again to a lower level than before: The market turned weak a sain when call money rose to 26 per cent. Rock Island ran oft 1, the preferred 2 and lead 2. Bonds were heavy at noon. ' After the extensive selling of the forenoon fore-noon on the high money rates and when several storks were bid up again the rest of the market showed some sympathy. In oialy a few stocks, however, were the advances ad-vances worth special mention. Kansas City Southern rose 2. while the preferred pre-ferred gained 4. Lackawanna sold at 460 compared with 4S7 the previous sale. Anaconda fell off 3 points -and Illinois Central and Lake Erie and Western 1. The spasmodic rise In Tennessee Coal affected the Southern iron group by sympathy sym-pathy and caused a decided advance in them and stimulated renewed ventures in other closely held stocks. Most stocka were not greatly affected by this independent inde-pendent movement, but .the market showed greatly increased strength by 2 o'clock.
