Oct. 21. Al Taro took just j t two minutes to administer the knockout I' to "Kid" Bennett of Denver, last night. Bennett seemed to be overconfident, and that waa the cause of his down- fall. Taro played guardedly and was cool of head from the moment he entered the ring. Bennett did all the leading and kept t. his man busy up to the time of the .knockout. At this point Taro left an opening for the heart and Bennett rushed to take advantage of It. Taro, however, had his eves open and Ben-." Ben-." nett uncovered his heart lust a little too much for his own safety. Quick as a flash Taro jumped in and handed """" him a short hard Jab to that organ. Bennett fell to the mat and was counted iT out. . " The blow was a clean knockout and everybody was satisfied. .Willard Bean of Salt Lake refereed the r fight and his decision was satisfactory. Considering that there has not been a fight here in a long time the attendance attend-ance was fjood. Taro and Bennett divided di-vided their share, S50 to the winner, $40 to the loser. They left for Salt Lake n the afternoon train. |
