Show SCHOOLS IN IDAHO MAY HAVE TO CLOSE (Special to The Telegram.) BOISE. Ida.. Sept. 22. In an interview given out by Gov. Gooding, he states that should the counties, refusing to provide for the collection of certain taxes in which they claim a charge in excess of the constitutional limitation Is being made, win their point, a number of the educational institutions will have to close when the money for their maintenance Is exhausted. At the end of each two years' period, he says, the State Legislature Is obliged to appropriate to pay a deficit in the maintenance main-tenance of State educational institutions. The contention of the counties will shorten short-en the amount of collections and increase in-crease the deficit. He does not believe the court will sustain the contention of the counties. |
