Show ADDRESSES DELIVERED Another Interesting Ses-Vision Ses-Vision of Episcopal Conference Con-ference Is Held, . v ' The Episcopal ministers of the seventh missionary district, celebrated hols communion com-munion at St) Mark's church at 7:30 o'clock this morning. The regular seselon of the conference began at 10 o'clock, with Bishop Nichols of California presiding. Archdeacon Hlnks of the Boise, Ida., district arrived hers this morning and will attend tho concluding sessions of the conference. con-ference. Special missionary problems In . the seventh missionary district were discussed dis-cussed by the delegates this fomlng. The first problem was "Meeting the Apportionment," Apportion-ment," was discussed by. the Rev. J. W. Gresham of San Joae. Cal. The Rev. N. B. V. Gallwey of San Mateo, told of four methods that had been used with success in his diocese, for meeting the financial needs of the church. Archdeacon Bywater spoke of ths personality per-sonality of rectors, and suggested a sort of tithing plan for the financlnl system of the church. The plan suggested was that 10 per rent of the parish receipts be set atdde for special work. Of the 10 per cent. ' one-half to be used foe diocesan missionary work, one-fourth for domestic and foreign missions and one-fourth for the endowment of the Episcopacy. The Rev. Mr." Ramsey spoke of the necessity ne-cessity of raising the spiritual plane of the church. Other speakers were the Revs-. A. Miller. Mil-ler. L. C. San ford and C. E. Perkins. "Methods of Developing Self Hope, was the topic led by the Rev. N. B. Gallwey. Gall-wey. San Mateo, Cal. He was followed by tho venerable Archdeacon John A. Emery of San Francisco. Other speakers were the Rev. Bywater. the Rev. Emery, the Rev. A. Brown, the Rev. J. H. Houghton, Bishop Spalding and the Rev. J. V. Gunn. "The Relation of the Church to Other Christian Denominations" was then dls-cuBsed dls-cuBsed by the Rev. J. W. Gunn of Montrose. Mont-rose. Colo. He pleaded for a closer communion com-munion and fellowship between the Christian Chris-tian denominations, in the matters ef religious re-ligious and charitable work. |
