Show MALICIOUS MISCHIEF CHARGE AGAINST HOPE James Hope, a negro and former soldier, sol-dier, was arrested last night by Patrolman Patrol-man Emil Johnson on a charge of destroying de-stroying property. He threw a large rock at J. C. Davis, a railroad man with but one leg. The. rock crashed through a window of Del Wilson's saloon sa-loon in East Second South street, doing $100 damage. When Davis was asked as to the origin of the trouble he became be-came abusive to Deputy Sheriff "Billy" Edwards and was Incarcerated on the charge of resisting an officer and using abusive language. Hops declares that Davis asked him for a drink and then abused him. Davis knocked .him down, Hope says. .They met later and Hope threw the rock at Davis. |
