Show FIRST STEPS TOWARD HOME FOR DELIUQUENTS The first steps toward tha establishing of a detention home in connection with the Juvenile court was taken by the Juvenile Ju-venile court commission yesterday. At a meeting of the commission In Mayor Morris' Mor-ris' office yesterday it was decided that a detention home will be established as soon as legal advice is given that the city can er.tabltsh one. - - Under the present law tha city can send children to the Industrial school at Ogden at the rate of 71 cents a day. It la aald that tha city can wU afford to house ita offending Juveniles at the rate of SO or 60 centa a day and save money. The Infanta' home in I street has consented to take charge of children, but tha rata of 30 cents a day la considered too low. The meeting was attended yesterday by Mayor Morris, Superintendent of Schools Chrlstensen and Chief of Police W. J. Lynch. The commiaalon ia endeavoring to find some method by which the city can allow more for the care of Juveniles. |
