Show PAT CROWE TURNS UP AGAIN IN OMAHA - r - OMAHA. Neb., May . Pat Crowe, the alleged kidnaper of Eddie Cudahy, son of . the millionaire packer of Omaha, and for whose arrest rewards aggregating 130,000 have at different times been offered, walked Into the office of the World-Herald at 1 o'clock Friday morning, accompanied accom-panied by Thomas O'Brien, proprietor of the Henshaw hotel of this city. Crowe stated that he had served in the Boer war, fighting with the Boers. He returned to this country after the war. and has - lived continually, according to his statement, quietly in a South Side flat In Chicago. He says he has been in Chica,co nearly three years, and that he has ted Omaha on three different oc--casloti during that time. Crowe . has been at tthe home of his brother, J. J. Crowe, who resides in Council Bluffs and runs a saloon In that city. He was asked if he had a hand in the famous Cudahy kidnaping, but declined de-clined to either deny or admit his guilt. Th interview lasted for nearly an hour, - during which time Crowe was apparently 111 at ease. The crime with which Crowe is charged is that of kidnaping Edward Cudahy, Jr., whose father la the proprietor of a large company in this city. The kidnaping occurred.-December 18, 1900. The kidnanor demanded a ransom or rzs.ooo for the boy, . but he was set free near his father's home - by his captors, who .got no money. |
