Show (h) To throw or deposit any garbage or other deleterious matter mat-ter of any kind anywhere within with-in said limits, except at a garbage gar-bage disposal plant designated by the health commissioner and j superintendent of water works. (k) To spread or eat any picnic or lunch at places forbidden by the superintendent of water works or health commissioner, who may reouire that picnicking or camping be confined to certain cer-tain designated placet (1) To wade or bathe m the stream. (n) Any person who owns, operates, op-erates, maintains or permits the use of any house, cottage, cabin, human habitation or camping place shall be required to provide pro-vide and maintain a sewage dis-posal dis-posal system satisfactory to the superintendent of water works and health commissioner, and upon his failure so to do the health commissioner shall have and there is hereby conferred upon him, the authority to close, Mali and prevent the use of such house, cabin, human habitation or camping place. (o) When in the judgment of the superintendent of water works and health commissioner privately owned property within the watershed may become a source of danger to the sanitary condition of the water supply, the owner of said property may be required to permit the water department to erect and main tain a suitable privy. (p) Superintendent of water WOrkl and health commissioner are hereby authorized and directed di-rected to prescribe rules and regulations reg-ulations not contrary to law, governing all matter! of sanitation sanita-tion within the watershed. ORDINANCE NO. 23 CITY OF BINGHAM CANYON, UTAH An Ordinance Providing for the Prolection of Water Used by lhe City of Bingham Canyon, Utah, from Polution. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Bingham Canvon, Utah; Section 1. The watershed areas of Bingham Canyon are hereby defined to be the entire areas within 15 miles above the intakes of the City within which water drains into any stream or tributary tribu-tary thereof, or underground tunnel, tun-nel, or any artesian or flowing well basin, where such waters are taken by said City, or from which waters are taken to be delivered de-livered to said City, into its water works system for the culinary and domestic use of the mhabi tants thereof Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to do or permit to be done any of the things hereinafter herein-after described along any stream I or source of water used by the inhabitants of Bingham Canyon for their water supply. (a) To deposit, pile, unload, or leave any waste minerals or dirt which might contain such minerals min-erals within 300 feet of any stream I or source of water supply. (b) To construct or maintain j any corral, sheep pen, pig pen, chicken coop, stable, or any of- I tensive, or contaminating yard or outhouse; provided, however, that livestock may be permitted to graze beyond 300 feet from any stream or source of water supply, but not within 300 feet of any stream or source of water supply except where permit has ' been obtained from the health commissioner and superintendent superintend-ent of water works and compliance compli-ance with all the sanitary ro- '. quircmonts prescribed by said I officials. (c) To deposit, pile, unload, or leave any manure or offensive rubbish, or carcass of any dead animal at any place within said watershed areas as herein defined defin-ed except at a garbage disposal plant designated by the health commissioner and superintendent i of water works. (d) To permit any loose cattle, ; horses, sheep, hogs, or any other animals to run at large except where such livestock are more than 300 feet from any stream or j source of water supply within I said watershed areas. (e) To stake or graze horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, or other ani- mala within 300 feet of the bank j of such stream, or within 300 feet of the source of any water supply except that horses or cattle cat-tle may be staked or corralled within such 300 feet at such place and under such conditions as may be designated by the health commissioner com-missioner and superintendent of water works of Bingham Canyon. The person obtaining such permit per-mit must keep the premises whereon said animals are kept, in such condition as may be required requir-ed by the health commissioner and superintendent of water works, and said permit may be revoked at any time by said of-i of-i ficers upon failure of the per-i per-i mittee to comply with such reasonable rea-sonable sanitary regulations as are prescribed by said officers. (f) To permit any horses, cattle, cat-tle, sheep, hogs or other animals to water directly from the stream. g) To permit any horses, cattle, i sheep, hogs or other animals to 1 remain in or near, or to pollute ' any such stream of water. |
