Show NAVAL OFFICER, WHO FLEW BOND-PURCHASED PLANE VISITS HERE Lt. A. M. Gibson, naval air corps pilot and a member of the crew of three which made between be-tween 40 and 50 missions in the torpedo type bomber which was I paid by Bingham war bond purchases pur-chases during the Fifth war loan drive, visited in Bingham Canyon Can-yon on August 15. He told the mayor that his i plane was based on a carrier and worked in conjunction with i ground forces at Okinawa, blast-I blast-I ing out pillboxes and strafing in advance of troops. The lieuten- ant made a speaking appearance at the Victory Flag society benefit bene-fit at the Princess theatre and later was guest at Union Drug I for refreshments. Those who jr-j jr-j ranged for hispitaiity shown the naval lieutenant were Mayor Murano, Earl T. James, Boyd J. Nerdin. Bob Jimas. Topflight war bond saleswomen who met the flyer and family included Mrs. Irene Brisk, Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen and Mrs. Jimas. |
