Of 111 men of the Ku Klux Klan who testified before be-fore a speclsl oounty grand Jury here, which today concluded 4 three weeks' Investigation of klan night riding activities, ac-tivities, "the majority seemed to ' ba vlcttme of amnesia." tha Jury declared In It report submitted this afternoon to Superior Judge Stanford. All that most of the klansmen could remember, aald the report, "was that they Joined, paid 114, and then reeigned." Ths Jury Inquired Into several whippings, whip-pings, and In the course of Its Investigation Inves-tigation returned flv Indictments agalnat three. Tha report repeated that the total membership of four klan organisation In Maricopa county waa 726. Testimony, th report stated, showed that tha klan discussed personal per-sonal business competition and means to aid tha klanamen against hla competitors, com-petitors, that warnings wr ent through th malls, and that political and religious mattera wera discussed at tha meeting. |
