" - - - From - - ! President Harding's Fourth of July, 1922, Address v ; Marion, Ohio. i "Tli foremost thought in the Comtkutiaa is the right to freedom and the pursuit of happiness. Mm most he free to live and achieve. Liberty is " j gone in America when any man is denied by anybody the right to work ami t to live by that work. It does not matter who denies. A free American has the right to labor without any other's leave. I "It would be no less an abridgement to deny men the right to bargain i collectively. Governments cannot tolerate any class or group domination i through force. It will be a sorry day when group domination is reflected in our laws. Government andthe lawswhick. government fa charged -with enforcing must be for all the people, ever aiming at the common good." ' Chairman Ben W. Hooper of the United States Labor Board, in his statement of July 1, 1922, said ' "Regardless of any question of the right of the men to strike, the men wbo take the strikers' places are merely accepting the wages and working conditions preacribed by a Government Tribunal and are performing a public j service. They are not accepting the wages and working conditions which an employer is trying to impose. For this reason Public Sentiment and full 1 Government power will protect the men who remain in their positions and new men who may come in." j Competent Men Are Wanted for Railroad Service As Follows: MACHINISTS BOILERMAKERS BLACKSMITHS ELECTRICIANS SHEET METAL WORKERS PIPE FITTERS CAR REPAIRERS TINNERS ' ROUND HOUSE SERVICE MEN COACH CLEANERS APPRENTICES AND HELPERS Standard Wages will be paid under rules and working conditions with seniority rights dating from time of employment as prescribed by die United States Railroad V Labor Board.
