S Lazenby reported they had found cound a basement door unlocked and had searched the place They reported the sate safe was locked nothing was disturbed and apparently the door had been left leU unlocked ed through an over over- sight Four hours later however John rice an attendant at the es esI es- es told police he hOld had I found the sate safe opened and 30 missing Three cartons of c cig- cig l- l also abo were gone Detectives J J. J J. J Ferrin and R. R N. N Brinton Investigated and nud found that the thc safe saCo was unlocked a padlock on the door to the room in which chich the safe saCe is located was locked The were unable to learn leam how the thc place was entered after the other policemen had locked the basement door
