A By Guest Edgar BUSINESS AND BIGOTRY He didn't like a Catholic he didn't like a Jew He didn't like a Spaniard or a Greek In private life he told his wife there were but very few To whom he thought it worth his while to speak He didn't like a Baptist or a Methodist at all 11 And he wished hed he'd never meet them any more He was satisfied to dwell in a circle very small But he talked a 8 different language in his store Be kindly to the customer and satisfy his need Its It's the dollar we are after for the till Dont Don't ever show a prejudice color caste or creed The wants of every caller we must fill Be courteous and helpful clerks remember one and all Be obliging to the customer who spends This little business axiom every morning please recall It never pays to quarrel with our friends I have never known a merchant who would stop to ask the creed Or the politics of one who came to buy Or would scorn to take a dollar front a man manof manof of different breed Or would give to him an insolent reply And I wonder why in private lifo life the bigot doesn't see In the few brier brief years on earth which he must spend That every ery man no matter what his caste or creed may be Is usually worth orth having for tor a friend t 0 |
