Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS Bonnie June Olsen State defending class B basketball bas-ketball champs Grantsville high school, chalked up nine wins and no losses last Friday in what appeared to be one of the biggest games of the year. Although Al-though the liners were right close behind and at a few points were even in the lead, the Cowboys Cow-boys took the game 51-41. High pointers for Bingham were Knudsen 19, Dimas Di-mas 7 and Boren 6. Score by quarters was 13-8, 28-22, 39-28 and 51-41. The Miners Min-ers still have a good chance to go to the tournament. The game with' Cyprus Friday (tonight) will help decide if Bingham goes or not. The game is on Cyprus' floor. At the half of the game a centennial cen-tennial idea was carried out for along with the Minerette drill there was an original vocal number num-ber given by Joel P. Jensen and Ralph Siddoway. A group of students stu-dents representing the seventh, eighth and ninth grades, presented present-ed a square dance. Bingham high will make a show of their talent Friday (today) (to-day) when they will present their traveling assembly to Cyprus high school- Grantsville presented their traveling assembly Friday. Each number was introduced by a calendar set off the side of the stage. Then a male quartet and a skit were rendered. A pep assembly is being planned plan-ned by Shirley Watkins and Jayne Bigler, our cheer leaders. The assembly is to be Friday afternoon. af-ternoon. Big event of the week was the annual junior high operetta given giv-en Thursday. There was a matinee mat-inee and evening performance. The senior high operetta will be held next Thursday evening, March 6. J. A. Turner presented an interesting in-teresting lyceum number Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. The topic he discussed and demonstrated was penmanship, the value of concentration con-centration and muscular skill. Recently a representative was elected from each home room class to attend student council meeting each Monday at noon. At the most recent meeting discussion dis-cussion was on the voting of Miss Coppertonian, who is the yearbook year-book queen, and also matters concerning the school paper and assemblies. |
