Show : local notes: Mrs. Louis Arritola was hostess hos-tess Sunday evening at a farewell fare-well get-together honoring Ben Arritola, a furloughed soldier, who was reinducted Monday into in-to the army. Those present were I Mr. and Mrs. Ben Arritola, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Arritola, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Susaeta, Mr. and Mi's. Manuel Susaeta. Mrs. Percy Gates, Mr and Mrs. Manuel j Osoro, Sgt. Joe Osoro (now stationed sta-tioned at Clearfield). The evening even-ing was spent visiting and refreshments re-freshments served. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stoker entertained the evening of Aug ust 1 at dinner for Mr. and Mrs John Nilsson and Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Rawlings. Mrs. Bertha Nichols spent Monday with Mrs. Janabelle Sullivan Sul-livan of Murray. Mrs. Anna Eliades, who is recovering re-covering from a recent illness, was a business visitor in Salt Lake Wednesday. Delia Jean Simmons returned Monday from a three-day visit with a friend, Rose Barney of Salt Lake City. Miss Simmons celebrated a birthday August 16. Ruth Rebekah lodge No. 7, I O. O. F., met Tuesday as guests of Mrs. S. T. Nerd In. Bridge prizes pri-zes were claimed by Mrs. James Denver, Mrs. Grant Hodges and Mrs. Harry Sours. A delightful luncheon was served. Cpl. and Mrs. Cloid Hinckley of Fresno, Calif., who have been visiting in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sparkes, spent Thursday with Mrs. Hinckley's Hinck-ley's sister, Mrs. Stephen G. Rawlings. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thompson Thomp-son of Salt Lake Cit" called on Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spendlove Sunday. Elaine Murray of Helper is spending a week with Colleen Creedon and Marillyn Wells. Mr. and Mrs. Al Mellon of Tooele and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jackson of Lark visited the evening ev-ening of August 1 with Mrs. Martha Mar-tha Matthews, here from Canada Can-ada to visit her sister, Mrs. J. ! Crellin of Cyprus hall. Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Mini spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs Bryan Bird. Mr. and Mrs Richard Christ-ensen Christ-ensen and son David of Brigham ! City visited Sunday at the S. J. ; Jacques home. Mrs. Spencer Jac- i ques and sons left with them to return to Ogden. Chief Petty Officer Harry Erickson and Miss Phyllis Coon, Mrs. Harry Erickson, Mrs. Clair i Rasmussen and son, Lee, all of : Murray, visited Sunday with Mr. ! and Mrs. Elwood Johnson. Attending funeral services for ' John H. Gillette at Tooele Monday Mon-day were Mr. and Mrs. Joseoh Spendlove and Mrs. John C. Bates. Vivian Holley of Salt Lake City is visiting a week with her aunt. Mrs. G. T. Parkinson. Guests at the Parkinson home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Geo-rge Christoherson of Salt Lake, onetime Bingham residents. Mrs. Clair R. Mathis entertained entertain-ed August 2 for her bridge club. Prizes went to Mrs. O. J. Graham Gra-ham of Midvale, Mrs George T. Parkinson and Mrs. Harold Chester. Ches-ter. Delightful refreshments were served eight, which included three guests, Mrs. Dale Johnston, Mrs- Harold Nielsen and Mrs. Charles F. Sullenger. Tuesday evening Mrs. Arthur Durnford, Mrs. Jack Warner, Mrs. Donald Byrne and Mrs. Harold Franks enjoyed five hundred hun-dred and supper at the Franks home. Harold Otteson is vacationing a month at Kilgord, Ida., as guest of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Barney. |
